This prayer was written for the launch of the network in November 2007
Holy God
Into this frail flesh you have imprinted your image
Male and female, we bear the mystery and the wonder of the breath of God
Holy God
Into these careless hands you have entrusted your creation
Male and female, our task is to unlock its potential and bring new things to birth
Holy God
Forgive us for where we have turned from complementarity to competition
Forgive us for where we have thrown blame at each other instead of honour and respect
Forgive us for where we have huddled in separate corners instead of striving for partnership.
Holy God
We ask for your blessing on the Sophia Network
May it be a place where women are heard and valued, celebrated and honoured
May it be a place of inspiration and blessing, of liberation and hope
May it be a catalyst for growth and change, where we discover together what it means to be women of God
May it spread ripples throughout the church, to enable women and men to
work together in the partnership that reflects the heart of God.
And may we pass on to the next generation models of being, of relating,
of working together that fully honour the image of God in us and in
them.

thank you for the work you have already put into the Sophia Network, it was really encouraging to begin to listen to each other at the launch and hear the stories of many women in youth ministry.
